guessIo is developed and operated by Elvis. For any privacy-related questions, requests, or concerns, you can reach me at:

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Account information: Username and email address obtained via Google Sign-In when you create and manage your account. You can also choose to input your name.
• Google Sign-In: After signing in with Google, I receive basic profile information (such as your name and email) from Google to create and manage your account.
• Support/contribution payments: if you choose to financially support the Game, I (or my payment processor) will process payment details necessary to complete that transaction. I do not store full payment card details myself.
• Communications: if you contact me for support, I collect whatever information you include in that message.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Gameplay data: match history, guesses made, rounds played, rating, points, and statistics tied to your account.
• Device and usage data: basic technical information such as browser/device type, general usage patterns, and connection status, used to operate real-time matches and diagnose issues.
• Guest play: if you play without an account, gameplay progress is stored locally on your device only and is not linked to any identity I hold. I do not knowingly collect personal information from guest sessions.

2.3 Cookies and Similar Technologies

I may use cookies or local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences (such as theme or sound settings), and maintain session state during matches. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how the Game functions.

I use collected information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Operate core gameplay features, including matchmaking, real-time matches, and leaderboards
• Calculate and display your rating, points, statistics, and achievements
• Maintain match history and match details
• Process optional financial support/contributions, where applicable
• Enforce fair play (for example, applying penalties for idle or disconnected play as described in my gameplay rules)
• Communicate with you about account matters, security notices, or (if you opt in) promotional updates
• Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Game
• Comply with legal obligations

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal data (for example, under the GDPR), I rely on one or more of the following:

• Performance of a contract - to provide the Game and its features to you as an account holder
• Legitimate interests - to secure, maintain, and improve the Game, and to prevent abuse
• Consent - for optional communications (such as promotional notifications) or optional cookies, which you may withdraw at any time
• Legal obligation - where I am required to process or retain data by law

I do not sell your personal information. I may share information in the following circumstances:

• Other players: your username, match results, and public statistics (such as leaderboard rank) are visible to other players, as this is core to how the Game works.
• Service providers: I may share information with third parties that help me operate the Game, such as hosting providers, authentication services (e.g. Google Sign-In), and payment processors for optional support contributions. These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide services to me.
• Community platforms: if you choose to join my Discord community, your interactions there are governed by Discord's own privacy policy and terms, not this policy.
• Legal requirements: I may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Elvis, my players, or others.
• Business transfers: if Elvis is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a comparable one.

• I retain account information for as long as your account is active.
• If you delete your account, I remove your username, email, password, and display name, and sign you out of all devices. Match and round records involving other players are retained in a de-identified form so that other players' match history and statistics remain accurate, but this data is no longer linked to you personally.
• Guest play data stored locally on your device is retained only on that device and is not held by me.

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

• Access the personal information I hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent for optional processing (such as promotional communications) at any time
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format, where applicable

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under applicable California privacy law, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of certain data practices; I do not sell personal information.

guessIo is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by your local law). I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If I become aware that I have collected such information, I will take steps to delete it. I may operate and process information in countries other than your own. Where required, I take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, consistent with applicable data protection law.

I use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including secure password storage and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

guessIo may contain links to third-party services, such as my Discord community or a payment processor for optional contributions. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services, and I encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If I make material changes, I will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent revision.
